Contest

In March 2008, Revenge Ink launched a contest in India to prove that the subcontinent can produce genuinely interesting contemporary and original fiction. We believe the contest entries have vindicated our stance. It’s abundantly clear that Indian fiction goes way beyond a cliched pandering to the West’s insatiable appetite for squalid narratives of caste and gender oppression set in exotic beach-front locales.

In June 2008, Gopal and Amita will meet with the participants of this contest, give awards to those who won, and pow-wow with anyone else who wants to talk about India, writing, art and posh Western publishers in search of the latest squalor-mongering sellout…
